Description

The position involves supporting the OHCHR in Colombia by providing technical assistance in the application of the rights of indigenous people, consolidating strategic analysis, strengthening national and territorial coherence, and generating technical inputs for monitoring, prevention, and institutional response to human rights risks affecting indigenous peoples. The role includes contributing to reports, analyses, and strategies, as well as fostering relationships with indigenous authorities and civil society organizations.

Skills Required

Human rights experience, including work related to indigenous peoples' rights, collective rights, or ethnic approach, Experience in monitoring, analysis, and reporting on complex human rights situations, Experience in strategic analysis, trend identification, and drafting analytical inputs for decision-making, Experience working with indigenous authorities, civil society organizations, and/or state institutions, Solid knowledge of international human rights standards and, when applicable, international humanitarian law, Analytical capacity and proven report writing skills for substantive and technical documents, Desirable specialized knowledge of the national and international legal framework applicable to indigenous peoples, including collective rights, prior consultation, territorial and environmental rights., Excellent interpersonal skills; cultural and social sensitivity; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders, including community members, religious and youth organizations, and authorities at different levels; familiarity with communication tools and approaches for development., Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment; ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of national and international staff., Solid computer skills, including advanced handling of several Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) as well as email/internet; familiarity with database management and office technology equipment, Self-motivation, ability to work with minimal supervision; ability to work with tight deadlines., Good awareness of security matters
