Description

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Brazil is seeking a Specialist in Payments for Environmental Services to support the structuring and implementation of a payment model for sustainable pirarucu management. The specialist will work with IBAMA, the National Bioeconomy Secretariat, and community organizations to facilitate dialogues, monitor information, and define guidelines. This role involves fieldwork in the Amazon and requires strong analytical, communication, and technical skills.

Skills Required

Technical Assistance and Rural Extension, Sustainable Development, Indigenous Peoples and Traditional Communities, Acting in PES projects or studies, Knowledge of traditional territory management and conflict management instruments, Experience in fieldwork in the Amazon, preferably with the pirarucu production chain, Analytical capacity for data systematization and preparation of technical reports, Knowledge of legislation: Law No. 13,123/2015 (Benefit Sharing) and Law No. 14,119/2021 (National Policy of PES), Excellent oral and written skills; excellent writing, formulation and reporting skills, Excellent interpersonal skills, Solid computer knowledge, including proficiency with MS Office tools (Excel, Word, Power Point etc.) and e-mail/internet, Ability to work with minimal supervision, Demonstrate understanding, involvement, tolerance and sensitivity in ethnic-racial, sexual, religious and territorial issues.
