The Nutrition Officer in Kousseri, Cameroon, will be responsible for the technical and operational oversight of severe acute malnutrition (SAM) management in supported health facilities. They will also promote micronutrient supplementation, optimal breastfeeding, and maternal, infant, and adolescent nutrition. This role involves field work supporting UNICEF's nutrition partners and collaboration with health districts and other nutrition stakeholders.
Technical and operational oversight of SAM management, Implementation of national SAM protocols, Performance analysis and improvement planning (cure rates, dropouts, deaths), Health personnel and partner training, supervision, and coaching, Management of nutritional inputs (ATPE), District support for planning and forecasting needs, Stock management support and issue alerts, Continuous technical support for partners, Capacity building identification and support, Preparation, review, and consolidation of partner reports, Participation in coordination meetings, Collaboration with health facilities and nutrition actors, Support for rapid/multi-sectoral assessments, Data collection and verification, Documentation of best practices and challenges, Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Kobo., Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving abilities., Good communication and facilitation skills., Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines., Results-oriented and attention to detail., Ability to work in a multicultural team and in a crisis context., Solid knowledge and experience in PCIMAS and nutritional inputs., Knowledge of the humanitarian context and emergency situations.
