Description

YLabs is seeking a Tanzania-based Research Lead to support the PEACE project, focused on preventing peer sexual abuse among children and adolescents. The Research Lead will coordinate mixed-methods research, support ethical approvals, recruit participants, lead qualitative data collection, and contribute to analysis. This is a contractor position for up to 6 months, requiring experience leading research in Tanzania and working with adolescents on sensitive topics.

Skills Required

Leading research studies (qualitative and/or mixed-methods), Experience in understanding and applying trauma-informed research techniques, Turning research findings into actionable insights, Recruiting research participants (especially adolescents and youth), Knowledge of local cultural norms and gender norms in Tanzania, Fluency in English and Swahili, Qualitative data collection (interviews, focus groups, co-design activities), Mixed-methods research, Ethical approvals, Data analysis and synthesis, Program and design decisions, Data management, Communication with non-academic audiences

Compensation:
The maximum budget for this 6 months contract is TZS 58,971,941 commensurate with experience. Payments will be made monthly via bank transfer.
