The UNV Laboratory Technician will perform routine and specialized laboratory testing services under the supervision of the Chief Medical Officer. Responsibilities include conducting tests, reporting results, maintaining equipment, and coordinating with medical teams. The role requires adherence to safety protocols and the ability to work in a challenging, remote environment.
Laboratory investigations, Specimen collection (urine, sputum, stool, blood), Test result reporting, Sterilization and biological waste disposal, Laboratory equipment maintenance, Inventory management, PCR testing (MOLBIO or similar), Blood supply coordination, Daily statistics and monthly report filing, Medical team collaboration, Communication skills, Microscopy techniques (Malaria), Familiarity with tropical diseases diagnosis
Introductory briefings, support with arrival administration, structured guidance and mentoring, access to office space and equipment, inclusion in emergency procedures, leave management, Daily Subsistence Allowance (DSA) for official travel, Rest and Recuperation (R&R) after every 6 weeks.
